That spiky juniper
is all at once
prickly
and smooth
It warms
and wanders
down
Comforting
but
Easing little
and stirring
my mind
causing a storm
with each sip
That spiky juniper
is all at once
prickly
and smooth
It warms
and wanders
down
Comforting
but
Easing little
and stirring
my mind
causing a storm
with each sip
Unhappiness
eases up on me
again
A well worn blanket
wrapped around
air tight
It’s uneasiness
unravels rationality
I saw you
Old lover
and smiled politely through
an interrogation
of past
disguised as present
Nodding nicely
A woman’s duty
But you should know
kindness kills us
piece by piece
and Silence
speaks
more than words
Our sister
Puts up
with your shit
She should please you
in all ways
two kids
one man
Working
conservative
and cunning
But you still
cut her down
Her hair
Her weight
Her ways
You should know
She’s your only ally
Out of three
To a mother
you love no more
You should treat her better
than bitter children,
who know better
I just want to read
my poetry tonight
It’s not quite ego
echoing
Although I know
I’m not faultless
But mainly
I want to feel
memories
and moments
Once felt
but not forgotten
cemented in sensual script
Love and longing
written down
protects
like passover
the decay
of depression
It rains at night
A place
it never rains
Dry LA
lets loose
Your pain
A premonition
Your youthful bones
turn stiff
and ache all day
A man who
loves the rain
but steel
stitched in
your bruised body
lets you love
no more
Awake again
I haunt the halls
of my own home
a wandering spirit
possessed by
the ghost of
my still living
mother
she moves in me
stirring and stretching
half past the witching hour
she rises
a wrestles wraith
like her I leave
poisonous plumes
of hazy violet
smoke signals of our
time traveling
seance
