Seeds

Some friendships never bloom

They remain seeds

A victim of time

and space

Buried beneath the earth

They itch

and ferment

The soil

richer

thicker

without the need

of a flashy flower

yet lush all the same

I return

to that plot

from time

to time

to take in moments

and feel

soft grass

beneath my feet

Winter Rain

Late Winter Rain

Comes down

Coating the earth

in wet, icy drops

sending shivers up spines

and obscuring the earth

in a thousand shades of grey

Sunshine slips down

filtered by

cloudy cover

Leaving us lonely,

in a world

of not quite black. white, or bright

Puddles pop up

Revealing dull reflections

As dim shadows play

against dying light

Navigating

the web of Winter

needs the sharp eyes

of nuance

Goddess Song

My body isn’t quiet,

nor still,

It moves,

elegantly sleek

or unladylike undulations

duality in design.

my voice, rumbles

like thunder

my intellect strikes

like lightening

Quick and hot

I make fire

and fan flames

it is mine

It is home

a shape

punctuated with

slight flare

that swells out

my breast

and the bones

of my hips

Upturned nipples

smile rosily at me

from below

Long legs open

and part

Like the lips of a young girl

With the smile

of a knowing woman

and the cleverness of the crone

Through the arch of my foot

I move mountains

In every woman

the soul of a predator

in the body of prey

making men humble

since before the trick of time
